Welcome to the Inaugural Edition of the URBAN ARCH Consortium Newsletter!

We are excited to share this publication with you so that you can stay up-to-date with the latest developments of the URBAN ARCH Consortium.  URBAN ARCH, a member of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism Consortiums for HIV/AIDS and Alcohol Research Translation (NIAAA CHAART) initiative, conducts and disseminates interdisciplinary research aimed at understanding how alcohol use impacts people affected by HIV and develops interventions to reduce alcohol use and alcohol and HIV-related consequences in this population. We hope that you will learn something new about URBAN ARCH and the world of HIV/alcohol research as you read the stories we have put together for this issue.

In each issue you will find a mix of study updates, upcoming funding opportunities and meetings, practical tips for researchers, and spotlights on investigators and staff.  Since this is a new endeavor for us, we welcome input on additional features you would like to see or ways to make the newsletter more useful for you. Our goal is for the newsletter to be a way to stay connected to URBAN ARCH and als be exposed to external opportunities related to HIV/alcohol research.  A BIG THANK YOU to Laura Wulach for spearheading the development of the newsletter.
