Openings for Postdocs & PhD Students:

Computational Imaging Systems Lab is looking for 2-3 PhD students in Fall 2024 – Spring 2025, who have background in optics, signal processing, computational imaging, and/or machine learning. We are recruiting in all research areas.

  • Programming skills (e.g. Matlab, Python) are required.
  • Background in Fourier Optics and Optical Engineering are highly recommended.


Openings for M.S. and Undergraduate Students:

Computational Imaging Systems Lab is looking for M.S. & undergraduate students in Fall 2022.

Project 1: Deep learning for biomedical microscopy

  • Goal:
    • The student will work a group of PhD students to develop a computational phase microscopy
  • Scope of work:
    • Algorithm development
    • Image / data analysis
  • Backgrounds:
    • Coding: Prior experience in developing deep learning algorithms in TensorFlow / PyTorch
    • Basic knowledge of Digital image processing / Deep learning is preferred.
  • The expected period of the project: 1-2 semesters

          Project 2: Deep learning for neural signal processing

          • Goal:
            • The student will work a group of PhD students to develop a computational fluorescence microscope
          • Scope of work:
            • Fine-tuning of a deep neural network for image reconstruction
            • Image / Data analysis
          • Backgrounds:
            • Coding: Prior experience in developing deep learning algorithms in TensorFlow / PyTorch
            • Basic knowledge of Optics & Digital Signal Processing / Image processing
          • The expected period of the project: 1-2 semesters
