(scroll down to Step 3 for Mass Spec/LCMS Plugin)

About

The Mnova NMR plugin is ideal both for the non-expert NMR user looking for an easy to learn software which delivers quick, high quality results, and for the expert user looking for extensive advanced functionality. MNova is compatible with both Mac and Windows OS. Follow the instructions below to download and install the software.

Before You Begin: Connect to the BU Network

For the license file to work you must be connected to the BU Network, this can be via the wired network, the 802.1X wireless network (not the guest network), or remotely via the BU VPN. If Mnova stops working, or complains about the license, you will need to connect to the BU Network and restart the software.

    1. Download version 14.1.0 ONLY

(Do not download any other versions)

Download/install the application based on OS using the link below:
    MNova Installer

Download the following NMR license file, Boston-University_CampusULTD-2019_NMR (access is restricted to BU users).

Unzip the file and save it to your desktop.

    2. Apply the NMR Analysis License File

Next start MNova (this assumes you have installed it).

    • A registration window will pop up requesting the license file. Click on Install and select the Boston University Campus NMR v1.8.lic file you saved to your desktop to install the license. Note this new version of MNova has the plug ins for qNMR and reaction monitoring. The licenses for these plugins (included in the zip file you downloaded) need to be installed to activate these features as well.
    • You must restart Mnova now to activate these licenses and start using the software.

Note: If you get an error,Failed to connect to license server. Contact your system administrator..etc‘, send an email to CAS IT help desk at cashelp@bu.edu and let them know your IP address, and which building (if you are using a LAN line) on campus you are connecting from. Do not contact support@mestrelab.com.

    MNova Mass Spec/LCMS Plugin

    About

The MNova Mass Spec Plugin allows users to analyze their LCMS and Mass Spectrometry data using the same application/software that they use for NMR analysis.

Note: If you have an older version of MNova you may need to update to version 14.1.0 in order for the MS plugin to work. If you have never installed Mnova before follow the instructions above for steps 1 and 2 to install and activate the NMR analysis license and then continue to step 3 below to install and activate the Mass Spec Plugin.

To upgrade from an older version of MNova first you will need to uninstall the application or software from your computer. Then it is recommended that you delete the old MNova license(s) file(s) that you used to activate your older version of MNova. This will help save you from applying the wrong license files to your new MNova. Next follow step 3 below to activate the MNova Mass Spec plugin license.

    3. Apply the Mass Spec Plugin License File

      • Download the Mass Spec/LCMS license file from here Boston-University-CampusULTD-2020-Mass-New
      • Save and Unzip the file to your computer.
      • Open MNova, click Help and in the pop up window click Install. Navigate to the folder you saved the file to and select the Boston_University_CampusULTD_2020_Mass.lic file and click open.
      • Once applied successfully, you must retstart MNova before you can use the Mass analysis part of the software.
