Gallery: Slow start plagues men’s hockey in loss to New Hampshire
After conceding two goals on the first two shots they faced, Boston University’s men’s hockey team struggled to sustain consistent offense and solve the University of New Hampshire Wildcats defense, putting up a 4-1 loss. Of the first two goals of the game, the Wildcats scored one at even strength and one on the power play. The Terriers cut the deficit in half in the 13th minute of the first period, when senior forward Owen McLaughlin found freshman forward Ryder Ritchie net front for a quick redirect. The score remained the same until the third period, where BU needed to kill off a 5-on-3 penalty, but were unsuccessful, and then the Wildcats scored on the empty net in the dying minute of the matchup.
