Gallery: Men’s hockey drops the first Green Line Rivalry matchup of the season

The Boston University men’s ice hockey team welcomed their rival down Commonwealth Avenue, the Boston College Eagles, for their 299th all-time matchup, which ended in a 4-1 loss. The Boston College Eagles came in hot with the New Hampshire sweep in the weekend prior, while the Terriers were looking for a first non-exhibition home win of 2026. The Eagles put themselves on the scoreboard within the first four minutes of the game, from where they proceeded to score two more unanswered goals in the second period. It was not until in the first minute of the third period when the Terriers were finally able to respond with a goal, scored by junior forward Jack Harvey on the power play. Even though the Terriers outshot the Eagle they failed to convert their opportunities efficiently. With sophomore goaltender Mikhail Yegorov pulled, Boston College sealed the game with an empty-netter.
