Gallery: Men’s Hockey Fails to Defeat UMass Lowell in Overtime

The Boston University men’s ice hockey team opened the three-game series with UMass Lowell at home with a 4-3 overtime loss. Freshman forward Jonathan Morello found the back of the net first for the Terriers with less than five minutes in the first period,  The lead was then expanded to 2-0 with a power play goal by junior forward Jack Harvey in the early second period. However, the River Hawks responded with three unanswered goals to take the lead before heading into the last twenty minutes of regulation. With Harvey’s shorthanded goal in the third that tied the scores, the game was sent to a sudden-victory overtime. In the extra period that lasted for two minutes, BU was only able to put one shot on goal. The River Hawks took the advantage of a Terrier caught behind a net and converted the opportunity to secure their road victory.
