Gallery: Men’s hockey split the weekend with UMass
After taking a 1-0 victory at UMass on Friday, the Boston University men’s ice hockey team was looking to sweep the weekend series against the conference opponent, but, the wrap-around goal the Minuteman put in while sophomore goaltender Mikhail Yegorov was behind the net waiting for the Terriers to regroup eventually stood as the game-winning goal for UMass. Despite the Terriers outshooting the Minutemen by eight shots on goal, UMass junior goaltender Michael Hrabal recorded a shutout with 26 saves. With just under 2 minutes remaining in regulation, BU pulled Yegorov to add an extra attacker, but a Minuteman capitalized on a loose puck and scored an empty-net goal.
