Gallery: Terriers Rally Late Against Merrimack with OT Win
Boston University’s men’s hockey team beat the Merrimack Warriors 3-2 in overtime, coming back from being down 2-1 in the first period. BU opened the scoring in the 12th minute of the first period with a tip-in from freshman forward Jonathan Morello, which was answered with two goals by Merrimack late in the first period. The second period was scoreless, and included a waved-off BU goal after the goal and net came off its pegs. In the 17th minute of the third period , freshman forward Jack Murtagh tied the game with a toe-drag finish off an assist from junior defenseman Aiden Celebrini. Sophomore goalie Mikhail Yegorov made a crucial glove save with just seven seconds left to keep the tied. Just 21 seconds into overtime, sophomore defenseman Cole Hutson ripped the winner to give BU its 100th all-time victory against Merrimack
