Gallery: Men’s hockey battles to shootout victory over Colgate
The Boston University men’s ice hockey team skated to a 2-2 tie against Colgate on Saturday night at Agganis Arena before taking the shootout, 2-0. After Colgate opened the scoring in the first period, sophomore Cole Eiserman tied it midway through the second with his fifth goal of the season. The Raiders briefly regained the lead early in the third, but freshman Jack Murtagh responded minutes later with his first collegiate goal. A potential go-ahead goal from Sascha Boumedienne in the final minute was overturned on an offside challenge, sending the game to overtime. Sophomore goaltender Mikhail Yegorov stood tall with 23 saves, including key stops in the extra frame, before denying both shootout attempts as Eiserman and Jack Harvey secured the win for BU.
