The Boston University Terriers (5-6, 2-1 PL) are hosting the Bucknell University Bison (5-5, 2-1 PL) at New Balance Field this Saturday at 1 p.m.

This season, BU has a 3-5 record on home games, while Bucknell has a 0-2 record on away games. Since August 2011, the Terriers have boasted a 14-5 record against the Bison, including a 7-3 home advantage and a 6-4 winning streak in the past ten games.

Bucknell recently beat Holy Cross 4-1 on their home field. BU also beat Holy Cross 3-2 two weeks ago, with a game-winning goal from senior forward Caroline O’Brien, who has been a standout for the Terriers this season. On Monday evening, BU lost 7-0 to the undefeated, fourth-ranked team, Harvard University. However, they led 6-4 in corners. The Terriers can look to utilize this offensive strength against Bucknell.

Bison’s Coach Kolojejchick has prioritized offensive diversity this season, which is evident in Saturday’s game against the Crusaders. Four different players scored for Bucknell, including senior defender and captain Kira Leclercq, who also assisted in two other goals that game. Leclercq leads the Bison’s defense as she won the Preseason Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 8, Three-Time All-Patriot League honoree, and 2024 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year. She has 23 career defensive saves so far.

BU’s O’Brien continues to be a standout player this season. She’s logged ten goals and six assists so far. Molly Driscoll is another key player to watch, as she just won the Patriot League Rookie of the Week. She’s the third member of her rookie class to win Rookie Player of the Week so far this season, showing the depth of the Terriers’ roster.

The Terriers will face Bucknell on Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. at New Balance Field. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+.
