Gallery: Field Hockey comes up short, loses in OT to Vermont
In a tightly contested matchup, the Boston University field hockey team suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to the University of Vermont Catamounts. The first two quarters remained scoreless, but in the 34th minute, freshman defender Rachel Turer opened the scoring and earned her first collegiate goal, firing a shot to the left post off a penalty corner that the Terriers drew. The Catamounts, however, found an equalizer in the final minute of the third quarter, leveling the score with 15 minutes left to play. Boston University responded quickly, scoring again in the 47th minute, courtesy of freshman midfielder Molly Driscoll, who also scored her first collegiate goal. Vermont, again, equalized for the second time in the 58th minute, before ending the match nine minutes into overtime.
