The No. 2 Boston University men’s hockey season came to a close in St. Paul, Minnesota with a 1-2 loss to No. 3 Denver University in overtime. The Terriers’ Luke Tuch earned the first goal of the matchup, assisted by Devin Kaplan. In the second period, Denver’s Tristan Lemyre tied up the game with a quick shot off a pass from Miko Matikka. The Terriers’ penalty kill was a perfect 4-for-4 during the game, but BU’s power play never took the ice. BU had several chances to finish off the game in regulation but was not able to knock the puck past Denver’s Matt Davis, who recorded 33 saves for the Pioneers. The game was forced into overtime and Denver’s Tristan Boz buried a shot off a 2-on-1 breakaway to end the game. Denver University is set to play Boston College in the national championship.
