After a huge road win against the University of Maine Black Bears (10-11-0, 6-8-0 HE) the Boston University Terriers (9-8-2, 7-6-1 HE) are hoping to keep that momentum going for their next pair of games. The Terriers face off against the University of New Hampshire (9-10-1, 4-7-1 HE) on Friday, January 12th at 6pm. On January 13th, they hit the road for a matchup against the University of Connecticut Huskies (11-6-2, 9-3-2 HE) at 3pm.

For the Terriers, a key player is senior forward Lacey Martin, who had a pair of goals on the UMaine win. With nine goals and eighteen points on the season, Martin leads the team in points and will look to carry that energy into these next games.

Also making her season debut this weekend is junior goaltender Callie Shanahan, who has not played this season following a summer injury. She began skating with the team last week, and is expected to start at least Friday’s game against UNH.

For the Wildcats, this will be their first game of the month. Most recently, they fell to Dartmouth College in a 5-0 los, where UNH failed to put up any goals. Although the scoresheet may not have reflected it, goaltending has been a strong point for UNH. Freshman goaltender Sedona Blair made 29 saves in her last game, and has a save percentage of .911 on the season so far. She will look to her team to put pucks in the net to get a win.

The UConn Huskies will be hungry for a win after two road losses to the No. 2 University of Minnesota. Sophomore forward Megan Woodworth had a goal in each game, scoring the only goal in the latter of the two matchups. Woodworth will be a player to watchout for in the upcoming game, as she’s proven her ability to find the back of the net against even the toughest of opponents.

The Terriers have been in the win column for the last three games, and hope to continue to build off of this. Postgame, Martin mentioned how important team chemistry has been for the team lately, and the scoresheets show just how well the lines are gelling.

It seems that the team is really hitting a stride, capitalizing on power play and even strength chances. Although they have momentum on their side, the Terriers must not be complacent, as all three teams have talent that could propel them to victory.

Boston University Women’s Hockey hopes to continue their win streak, first at Walter Brown, then in Connecticut at the Toscano Family Ice Center. Both games can be streamed on ESPN+.
