Women’s Hockey: Terriers return home to face Yale for first time in four years

By: Daniel Multz

After a strong showing over the weekend in Providence, the Boston University Terriers (6-3-1, 3-3-1 WHEA) will return home to face the Yale Bulldogs (5-1, 3-1 ECAC) tomorrow at Walter Brown Arena.

This marks the seventh time these two teams will be playing each other. BU has gone      4-1-1 in the first six games, and they’ve won all three of their home games. Both teams will be coming off of stretches of in-conference matchups with BU having gone 1-2 in three games and Yale reaching 3-1 in four games played in just 8 days.

As BU comes off a close 2-1 victory over Providence this past Saturday, head coach Brian Durocher has continued to emphasize that every game counts and that the team must always be on top of its game.

“The biggest thought is that we’re: A. ready to play and we don’t look past an opponent, and B. we play a smarter game,” Durocher said.

After incurring six penalties against the Friars in their last game, Durocher has made it clear that while the team did win, the play needs to get a little sharper from this point on.

At this point, Durocher has not yet decided who will be starting in net for BU tomorrow night.

“I’ll talk with my staff and see where we go there,” Durocher said. Having hinted at the possibility of Kate Stuart getting another start in the near future but also considering Corinne Schroeder’s continued dominance, Durocher is definitely considering his options.

As the Bulldogs come to Walter Brown for the first time since 2015, the Terriers will look to build off of Saturday’s win and gain some much-needed momentum as games against Boston College and Harvard loom. Puck-drop is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
