Women’s Hockey: Terriers rank tenth in USCHO, USA Hockey Polls

By: Patrick Donnelly

The USCHO released its latest Division I college hockey rankings on Monday afternoon. Brian Durocher’s Terriers (1-0-0) rank tenth in the nation after ranking seventh in the preseason poll and eighth in last week’s poll.

Wisconsin (4-0-0) maintains the top ranking while cross-town foe Northeastern (1-0-0) improves one spot, coming in at third in the nation. Commonwealth Avenue rival Boston College (4-0-0) remains the seventh-ranked team in Division I.

The Terriers also rank tenth in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll as well, which was announced Tuesday morning. Wisconsin checks in as the top team in the country with Northeastern and BC coming in at third and seventh, respectively.

The Terriers’ slide in the rankings comes as teams like the Badgers and the Eagles have had their seasons underway for two weeks while BU merely opened the 2019-20 campaign this past Sunday.

Durocher and the Terriers return to action this Friday as they raise the 2019 Beanpot Champions banner and kick off their Hockey East slate against Merrimack (2-2-0, 0-2-0 WHEA) at the home opener at Walter Brown Arena.
