The No. 24 Boston University field hockey team remained undefeated in the Patriot League with a 3-2 double overtime win against Bucknell University on Saturday afternoon in Lewisburg.

The double overtime win, which served as a rematch of last year’s Patriot League Championship, kept the Terriers in the top spot of the Patriot League standings and dropped the Bison to 2-2 in the league.

The Terriers jumped ahead early in the first half on sophomore Kathryn Scheerer’s first goal of the season.

Bison senior Claire Lesher evened out the game fourteen minutes into the first half, but BU regained the lead minutes later when freshman Rebecca Janes scored on an assist from Maggie New. The Terriers maintained their 2-1 lead into the second half.

Bucknell tied up the game 2-2 in the second half with a goal from senior Lexi Quick. Terrier goaltender Kathleen Keegan stood tall, making two saves in the second half to keep the score tied.

Keegan kept the Bisons from scoring in the first overtime, pushing the game into double overtime where senior Allie Doggett scored the winning goal for the Terriers.

Next weekend, BU will host Lehigh University on Saturday at 12 p.m. and local rival Northeastern at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
