COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Tied at three goals apiece after one quarter, the Boston University men’s lacrosse team, poured on an 8-3 run in the second and third quarters to top Air Force 15-9 on Saturday afternoon in Colorado.

Junior attack James Burr netted five goals, a career high, for the Terriers (4-2, 0-1 Patriot League), with a pair of his tallies coming in the run. Senior Jack Wilson added three goals, junior Brendan Homire had two, and graduate student Brian Badgett, seniors Ryan Hilburn, Hayden Ruiz, sophomore John MacLean and freshman Chris Gray all scored.

Sophomore attack Matthew Schwartz scored four goals and senior Nick Hruby added a pair for Air Force. Juniors Jeremiah Hemme and Cameron Carter and sophomore Chet Dustan had one goal apiece for the Falcons (1-4).

BU trailed 1-0 after Dunstan’s goal and never trailed again. Ties occurred at three and four goals apiece when Homire, Hilburn and Burr powered a three to nothing spurt to put the game out of reach.

The Terriers converted on four of their five extra man opportunities and had eight turnovers to Air Force’s 13. BU also scooped up 11 more ground balls, 29-18.

The Terriers next play on Saturday, March 10 at home against Patriot League foe Colgate (3-1, 0-2 PL).
