Following its first victory of the 2017-2018 campaign, the Boston University Men’s Basketball team will play host to local Division III and NEWMAC member Wheaton College in the latter of a basketball doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.

The Terriers (1-3) feasted on Black Bear on Thanksgiving eve, downing the University of Maine, 78-69.

Senior sharp-shooter Will Goff paced the Terriers with 12 of his team-co-leading 13 points in the first half of Wednesday afternoon’s victory. Goff connected on a quarter of triples to help build a 41-28 halftime advantage.

The Terriers trailed 26-22 with 5:18 remaining in the first half when sophomore forward Tyler Scanlon’s personal 8-0 run helped close out the opening frame on a 19-2 burst. Scanlon also finished with 13 points, while adding 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Senior guard Eric Johnson went 7-of-9 from the charity stripe as a part of his season-high 9 points. Freshman guard Walter Whyte also achieved his career high with 12.

The Lyons (3-1) look to get back on track after losing their first contest of the 2017-2018 slate. Wheaton fell 72-70 to Roger Williams, in a game that the Lyons held advantages in points off turnovers, second chance points, points in the paint, fast break points and bench points.

Seniors Liam Bruno, Ryan Fogarty and junior Duaka Ekwensi lead the Lyons; all average around 16 points-per-game.

Bruno leads the team at 16.8 points-per-game. The Newton, Mass. native also shoots nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc.

Ekwensi comes off a 15 point, 15 rebound performance in the loss to Roger Williams. The six-foot-two forward leads the Lyons with 8.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game.

Senior forward Nick Havener continues to flourish for the Terriers, leading BU in points, rebounds and blocks per game. Havener is averaging 12.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per contest.
