Women’s Lacrosse: BU Suffers Blowout Loss to Dartmouth

By: Marisa Ingemi

A tough loss at home for Boston University on Wednesday afternoon to Dartmouth, 19-7, doesn’t leave many silver linings. The Terriers couldn’t keep the ball out of the net to a Big Green team projected to struggle in the Ivy League and couldn’t reach double digit goals themselves.

A 10-4 first half keyed by two three goal runs paced the way for the Big Green. Taryn Deck scored four times and totaled six points while Kiara Sweeney and Cara DiPippo each netted hat tricks, but the big day came from Elizabeth Mastrio who tallied five times off the bench.

Kiera Vrindton made 16 saves and allowed just seven goals. On the other end, Caroline Meegan struggled with 14 goals allowed while Christine Laible gave up five and made three saves.

The Terriers offense was paced by three goals from Elisabeth Jayne and two from Kelly Matthews. Avery Donahoe added two points and Sarah Anderson had a single goal.

BU has an opportunity to rebound on Sunday as they begin a west coast road trip with games at San Diego State and USC.
