Add External Award to Financial Aid Record

Staff are notified in various ways about outside scholarships that a student has received. These external awards are added to a student via Award Entry to ensure that the student is not over awarded. This information describes the process of adding external awards.

Please note that this resource includes information related to Federal Financial Aid policies which are liable to change. Staff maintaining this document will update terminology, links, or processes in accordance with new information as it becomes available in conjunction with Student Information System updates. The information here identifies salient details regarding the usage of MyBU Student and is designed to be used in conjunction to Financial Aid Procedures and Processes.

External Awards are resources that help a student pay for their education, they can be added to a student award before or after the student is packaged via Mass Packaging. OFA will receive notification of these Outside Awards in various forms (student self-identify, Profile, MyBU, etc.)
