The Pardee Atlas is currently accepting submissions for our online publications.

Advancing Human Progress Initiative (Research Paper)
In line with the Pardee School of Global Studies’ goal of “advancing human progress,” The Pardee Atlas would like you, as future policymakers, diplomats, researchers, and leaders, to analyze current or historical global issues and challenges to propose possible solutions that benefit the global community. Topics may include but are not limited to, human rights, global economics, international politics, international security, international development, religion, and environmental governance. You should devise a clear argument and provide a compelling analysis. While conducting your research and analysis, remember the words of Dean Emeritus Adil Najam:
“We have always thought of ourselves as the school for making the world a better place, and we take the task to heart.”
Submissions should be:
- 2500-4000 words, 12-point font, Times New Roman, Double-spaced
- Properly cited in Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition Notes-Bibliography format
- Please include an abstract summarizing the key points of your paper

Policy Paper
Policy papers should analyze and address contemporary policy issues related to global affairs. They should define a global policy solution, clearly discussing (a) why the problem is important, (b) who should do what about it and how, and (c) why the proposed policy is better than other alternatives.
Submissions should be:
- 2500-4000 words, 12-point font, Times New Roman, Double-spaced
- Properly cited in Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition Notes-Bibliography format

Opinions/Op-Ed
Op-Ed pieces should be clear, concise, and informed opinions about current topics or events related to global affairs.
Submissions should be:
- 650-1200 words, 12 point font, Times New Roman, 1.5 spacing
- Citations: Active links to sources should be embedded within the Op-Ed. Please include a Works Cited/Bibliography for the Editorial Board to review.
Please submit all Op-Ed pieces using this form.
Student Interest Pieces
We invite graduate students to submit short pieces focusing on issues or topics they are passionate about. These can include personalizing and humanizing news stories, sharing their thoughts on global issues happening today, and touching, inspiring, or motivating others.
We want to hear your voice and see global issues from your point of view! Interest pieces should be clear, concise, and informed opinions about current topics or events related to global affairs.
Submissions should be:
- 150 – 300 words, 12-point font, Times New Roman, 1.5 spacing
- Citations: Active links to sources should be embedded within the Interest Piece. Please include a Works Cited/Bibliography for the Editorial Board to review.

Photo Submissions
Photos tell stories, give us glimpses of others’ lives, and show us parts of the world we have never seen before. From monuments to culinary arts, share photos you have taken worldwide.
Photo Submission Guidelines:
- Must be original photographs taken by you
- Quality photographs in RAW, PNG, or JPEG file formats
- Provide background information on your photo, including the location and any necessary context.
- Please, no faces!
- Maximum submission is 3 photographs
- Open to all alumni and current graduate students of the Pardee School of Global Studies
