Zee Kamara

Zee Kamara is a first-year graduate student pursuing a Master of Arts in Global Policy with a specialization in Developmental Policy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences with a minor in Women’s Studies from the University of Florida. Zee’s academic career has been framed by strong, lifelong ties to her home country of Sierra Leone, West Africa and her love for the continent’s beautifully diverse people and culture. She has dedicated her academic coursework and extracurricular involvements to international integration through various positions such as President of The African Student Union, Youth Programs Intern at Aberdeen Women’s Centre (a free maternal and pediatric clinic in Freetown, Sierra Leone), Black & Abroad Senior Panelist, and Study Abroad Services Student Assistant. Her current research interests are technological and economic international development, the role of governance in under-resourced communities, and social justice. In her free time, Zee enjoys discovering new music, listening to her countless Spotify playlists, exploring Boston’s hidden gems, spending quality time with family/friends, and traveling!
