Petter Kolaas is a second year graduate student pursuing his Master’s in International Affairs with a specialization in diplomacy. His main interests include small-state multilateralism and the role of small-states in international negotiations, peace building, and conflict prevention. He obtained his Bachelor’s in History, Political Science, and Philosophy from St. Ambrose University, Iowa. During his time at St. Ambrose, he worked as a Writing Fellow, tutoring peer students in academic writing. In addition, he has on two occasions worked as a Teacher’s Assistants for two of his faculty mentors during both undergraduate and graduate school where he assisted in peer reviews, proofreading, and editorial assistance for academic publications. Along with his studies here at Boston University, he works part-time as a Research Assistant at the Boston University Global Development Policy Center’s Global China Initiative, focusing on policy-oriented research on China’s overseas economic activity and engagement. Petter is also an avid hockey fan and, on the weekends, you will find him at Agganis Arena cheering on our Terriers.
