Editor’s Farewell

Dear Readers,

With the fourth year of the Pardee Atlas coming to an end, my part as its third Editor-in-Chief ends.

The 2023-2024 academic year has been a momentous one. Not only has our team grown with Pardee graduate students coming from around the world, but we have also introduced two new initiatives: the Pardee Atlas Podcast and the Pardee Atlas Graduate Conference. With this growth, we have stayed committed to our mission which is to promote the voices of students as they address political, social, and development challenges.

Wth the Podcast, we have interviewed student leaders and Pardee School alums as they discuss issues they are passionate about such as youth movements, sustainable development, developmental economics, and refugee crises. The Graduate Research Conference brought graduate students across disciplines and the Greater Boston area together to share their ongoing work as they address challenging issues facing global affairs today. I am inspired by all these students as they are taking the lead in addressing global challenges that are facing us today.

I am also proud that Atlas was able to support students by amplifying their voices and giving them the opportunity to share their original work with peers and scholars around the world. I would especially like to thank the entire Atlas team as they played a crucial role in growing the Atlas and setting the foundation for the future.

I know the next chapter of the Pardee Atlas, under the leadership of Lexi Moran as the Editor-in-Chief, will continue the mission to highlight the work of the next generation of leaders while staying true to our school’s motto: “Advancing Human Progress”. I am excited to see the future of the Atlas!

Signing Off,

Manpreet Kaur Singh
