Dear Readers,
With predicted Great Power conflict, women’s reproductive rights in question, climate disasters occurring around the world from flooding in Pakistan and Puerto Rico to record heat in Europe, it may seem almost mundane, maybe even vain to head into a new school year. However, I returned to Boston University with renewed hope that the minds and hearts of all students on campus are working to make the world a better place. As simplistic as that sounds, that is the foundation of our school’s motto, “Advancing Human Progress.”
Now at the end of our third week of this new school year, I have spoken with many in our new cohort of graduate students at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, who bring with them an array of experiences from Kuwait to Puerto Rico. With the help of a new team of bright graduate students and as the Pardee Atlas’ new editor in chief, I hope we can highlight and encourage Pardee students as they push the boundaries of existing thought and put word to action. Let’s all work together to make this another great year!
Sincerely,
Christina Duran
