BMC-i2b2

BMC-i2b2 contains data from the Electronic Health Records (EHR) and administrative data systems used at Boston Medical Center. The data is transformed from local data formats (GE Centricity, Epic, and SDK) into a standards-based i2b2 dataset. Personal identifiers other than dates are removed and for added protection, all dates for an individual are randomly adjusted by +/- 30 days so that no dates are actual dates, but all intervals for an individual are preserved. Use of BMC-i2b2 is allowed by any member of the BUMC research community with human subject research training. Aggregate data queries can be performed via the BMC-i2b2 web client without additional IRB approval. Data extracts are also available following IRB review and approval.
