Keith Babbs, Ph.D.
Keith is a senior postdoctoral fellow at the Boston University Medical Center. In 2012, he received his Ph.D. in Physiology from the Pennsylvania State University, under the guidance of his mentor, Dr. Rebecca Corwin. His dissertation work focused on the effect of an estrogen metabolite on the progression of binge eating in male vs. female rats. Upon graduation, Keith began his postdoctoral training at the John B. Pierce Laboratory and Yale University, under the mentorship of Dr. Dana Small. During this time, his work focused on the interactions among oral sensation, glucose metabolism, and brain and hedonic response to carbohydrate in humans. Recently, he has begun working in the Laboratory of Addiction Genetics studying the genetic influence of addiction-like behaviors such as binge-type eating. His over-arching goal is to better understand the environmental and physiological contributions to eating behavior. In his free time, Keith loves to cook and is an avid homebrewer.
