Admission
How can we best educate and train graduate and undergraduate students to effectively apply multidisciplinary knowledge and skills to solve complex real-world problems—while maintaining deep engagement in their respective disciplinary fields? Given the broad interdisciplinary nature of our research program, students at LMST have an exceptional opportunity to engage in meaningful projects that connect foundational science with practical implementation.
If you’re ready to make your mark in groundbreaking research, please email Professor Zhang with your CV and a summary of your research interests.
LMST warmly invites prospective graduate students to join us in advancing our innovative research. Our interdisciplinary team spans Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, and Applied Physics. We welcome applications to both MS and PhD programs, with funding preference given to PhD candidates. Prospective students are encouraged to follow the Boston University Graduate Admission process and clearly indicate their interest in working with Professor Zhang in their application. Students are also welcome to contact current lab members for an authentic perspective on life in the lab and in the vibrant city of Boston.
