Gallery: Women’s hockey closes out first semester with last-minute loss to UConn

In their final game before the midseason break, Boston University’s women’s hockey team fell 3-2 to the University of Connecticut Huskies after conceding the game-winning goal in the final seconds of the game. While both teams were unable to score in the opening 20 minutes, senior forward Lilli Welcke opened the scoring for the Terriers in the fifth minute of the second period. The Huskies responded with a power play goal, also in the middle frame, before grabbing their first lead of the game at the start of the third period. In the sixteenth minute of the final frame, freshman defender Avery Supryka scored her first collegiate goal with a shot from distance, after BU pulled junior goaltender Mari Pietersen for the extra attacker. However, UConn would grab the win with a goal just 7.3 seconds left on the clock.
