Gallery: Men’s hockey brings back Kelley-Harkness Cup to Boston
Playing in Madison Square Garden for the 10th edition of Red Hot Hockey, the Boston University’s men’s hockey team triumphed to a 2-1 win over the Cornell Big Red, winning the Kelley-Harkness Cup for the first time since 2013. The Terriers, for a second game in a row, were able to capitalize on their first power play of the game, in the 7th minute of the first period, when sophomore forward Cole Eiserman took a one-timer from the extended goal line and sophomore forward Kamil Bednarik tipped the puck in. The Big Red were able to equalize in the second period, but Eiserman slipped a puck past the Cornell goaltender’s five-hole in the sixth minute of the third period for the game-winning goal. Sophomore goaltender Mikhail Yegorov saved 28 of 29 shots and finished the game with a .966 save percentage.
