Boston University Women’s Soccer (8-4-3, 5-1-1 PL) will travel to Pennsylvania this Saturday to face the Lehigh Mountain Hawks (3-9-3, 1-5-1 PL) at 1 p.m.

The Terriers have won five games on the bounce and haven’t allowed a goal in their last four. Their last time out, BU put together a dominant 6-0 display against American University.

Lehigh took on Princeton this Tuesday and lost 5-1. The Mountain Hawks will be looking to get back on form on their home pitch, though it will be challenging for them to rise against the Terriers, who currently sit in the No. 2 spot in the Patriot League.

The Mountain Hawks, on the other hand, are stuck in sixth place in the league. When the teams met last season, BU secured the victory 6-1. Overall, the Terriers are 8-1-4 against Lehigh, with the last loss coming in a 2019 away affair.

Lehigh has struggled both offensively and defensively all season. Their 33 goals allowed are the most in the Patriot League, and the Mountain Hawks rank No. 7 of 10 teams with just 14 goals scored. It is a recipe they will need to correct to have any chance against BU, who have scored 18 times in their last five matches.

The Terriers are led by senior midfielders Giulianna Gianino and Mackenzie Stickelman — each on top form right now. Lehigh’s leading scorer is forward Faith Dobosiewicz, who has netted three on the season.

Overall, the game is critical in the grand scope of BU’s season. It is the final road game of conference play, and a win could see the Terriers retain the top spot in the conference ahead of a meeting with No. 2 Colgate next weekend, which may determine home field advantage in the Patriot League Championship.

Although it may seem like an easy potential victory for the Terriers, nothing is given in the Patriot League, and Lehigh may be hungry to play spoiler in what has been a wonderful run for BU – especially in front of their home fans.

Kickoff on Saturday is at 1 p.m., with streaming available on ESPN+.
