The Boston University Terriers (5-7, 2-2 PL) are set to take on the University of Maine Black Bears (3-9) Saturday afternoon.

This season, the Terriers have a 2-1 record in away games, while the Black Bears have a 3-3 record in home games. BU boasts an overall record of 33-9 against Maine, which includes an 11-4 away record and a 7-3 win streak in the past ten games.

It’ll be a week since BU’s last game, where they were shutout by Bucknell University and shutout by Harvard University the game before that. The Terriers are searching for a win after those two grueling losses. Similarly, the Black Bears have been on a losing streak for the past six games, which they’ll try to break at their game on Friday against Bryant University.

UMaine’s last home game was in September and ended in a 1-2 loss against Northeastern University, where their only goal was from Senior Olivia Geniti. Geniti will be one to look out for as she leads the team with five goals and two assists, and has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association watchlist back in August.

The last time BU faced a game outside their home base was earlier this month, ending in a 4-1 win for the Terriers. Half of those goals were scored by Senior Caroline O’Brien. O’Brien is a force to be reckoned with, leading the team with ten goals and six assists, and has been named Offensive Player of the Week twice in the Patriot League since the start of the season.

For the Terriers, Junior Sophie Ortyl will be looking to play strongly in net as she holds a 2.91 goals against average and a 0.633 save percentage. The Black Bears are going to have Graduate student Rozárie Mrázová in net as she boasts a 2.19 goals against average and a 0.766 save percentage.

Boston University will face the University of Maine on Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. at the UMaine Field Hockey Complex. The game will be available for streaming on AmericaEast TV.
