Gallery: Men’s hockey opens 104th season with 4-2 win over Long Island
The Boston University men’s hockey team kicked off their 104th season as a varsity team and 21st season calling Agganis Arena home with a 4-2 victory against the Long Island University Sharks. The Terriers’ high-powered offense displayed their talent early when sophomore forward Cole Eiserman blasted a one-timer seven seconds into their first power play in the sixth minute of the first period. The Sharks tied the game in the third minute of the second period, but sophomore forward Sacha Boisvert cleaned up a rebound in the 17th minute of the second period to give BU the lead again. Though Long Island scored one more time in the third period, the Terriers held on to the lead for the rest of the game and added two more tallies in the final frame from sophomore defenseman Cole Hutson and Eiserman in the eighth minute and 13th minute of the third period, respectively.
