Gallery: Women’s Hockey falls 5-2, finishes season-opening series with Minnesota
In the finale of its first weekend at Walter Brown Arena in the 2025-2026 season, Boston University’s women’s hockey team drops 5-2 to the Minnesota Golden Gophers, despite a valiant effort. The Golden Gophers struck first in the seventh minute of the first period, but senior forward Sydney Healey responded in the 11th minute of the same period to tie the game. From then on, the Terriers settled in and kept up with the strong Minnesota offense, matching them shot for shot in the first two periods at 24 a piece. Freshman forward Anežka Čebalovà even scored her first collegiate goal in the 11th minute of the second period, blasting a shot right off the goal line. In the third period, however, the Golden Gophers outshined BU, scoring two goals in the 11th minute, before nailing the empty-netter in the 19th minute.
