Boston University Women’s Soccer (3-4-3, 0-1-1 PL) travels to West Point, New York on Wednesday to face Army West Point (7-3-1, 1-1-0 PL) in search of its first Patriot League win of the season.

The Terriers enter the matchup riding a six-game winless streak and look to snap a two-game road losing streak. BU has struggled to find its offensive rhythm away from Nickerson Field, averaging 1.5 goals per game on the road.

Sophomore goalkeeper Bridget Carr earned her first start of the season in BU’s scoreless draw against Loyola Maryland on Saturday, making three saves to earn honorable mention in the league’s weekly awards. Terrier goalkeepers have posted three clean sheets this year — all coming at home.

Despite the recent struggles, BU remains active offensively, ranking fourth in the PL with 147 total shots and 50 corner kicks. The Terriers have taken the second-most shots in the first two conference games this year, trailing only Wednesday’s opponent.

Army enters the contest coming off a dominant 4-0 victory over Lehigh on Friday, bouncing back from a 2-1 loss at American. The Black Knights were projected to finish second in the PL preseason poll and will host their first conference matchup of 2025.

Senior forward Brigid Duffy leads Army and shares the conference lead with seven goals, while sophomore forward Sophia Henry has tallied six goals. Both Duffy and defender Jordan Follenweider earned Preseason All-Patriot League Team recognition.

BU holds an 11-3-2 advantage in the all-time series against Army, which dates back to 1996. The Terriers swept both matchups last season, including a dramatic 2-1 double-overtime victory on Nov. 7, when forward Olivia Avellar scored the game-winner in the 83rd minute during the regular season finale.

BU also defeated Army in the PL semifinal round last year, with midfielder Morgan Fagan equalizing in the 68th minute. Forward Margy Porta netted the golden goal with just over a minute remaining in the second overtime.

The Terriers’ last road win at West Point came on Oct. 27, 2021, when BU secured the PL regular season championship with a 2-1 result.

BU has not sustained a three-game conference winless streak since 2019 and will look to avoid that mark on Wednesday.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at West Point, with the game available to stream on ESPN+.
