After clinching the third seed and home-ice advantage in the Hockey East playoffs, the Boston University Terriers (19-12-2, 12-8-2 HE) will face the University of Vermont Catamounts (11-19-3, 6-15-2 HE) at the Gutterson Fieldhouse in their last game of the regular season.

The Terriers are coming off an impressive 8-2 win over the Providence College Friars (20-9-5, 10-8-5 HE) on Thursday night.

BU demonstrated their depth with five different goal scorers and ten different players tallying an assist in the victory over the Friars.

The Coles continued to shine for the Terriers.

Forward Cole Eiserman recorded his second collegiate hat trick against the Friars. He has developed into a strong two-way player in the second half of the season, posting nine blocks defensively compared to just three in the first half of the season.

“At the end of the game, we’re up seven or eight to one, and he eats a puck in the ribs,” Coach Pandolfo said of Eiserman. “That says a lot about his character as a player.,”

Recently named Hockey East Rookie of the Month and National Rookie of the Month, defenseman Cole Hutson also made significant contributions for BU on Thursday. Hutson netted one goal, provided two assists, and made two blocks, showcasing his versatility on both ends of the ice.

The Terriers are expected to start freshman netminder Mikhail Yegorov. Yegorov posted an impressive .971 save percentage against Providence, one of his best performances of the season, bringing his overall save percentage to .935.

“He’s just steady in there…He’s confident. He’s a presence in the net,” Pandolfo said.

Vermont will likely give Axel Mangbo the nod in net. Mangbo currently holds a .890 save percentage.

BU has taken down Vermont twice this season and historically done well against the Catamounts, boasting a 40-17-9 all-time record.

“We need to keep our foot on the gas… We need to stay consistent, so it doesn’t change our approach,” Pandolfo said.

The Terriers will strive to end the regular season strong, aiming for a season sweep over the Catamounts.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:10 PM on Saturday, March 8th, with streaming available on ESPN+.
