Boston University Women’s Basketball (8-15, 2-10 PL) is set to face off the Colgate Raiders (18-7, 8-4 PL) on Saturday, Feb. 15. The Terriers are looking to make a comeback after losing to the Raiders 49-61 earlier this season.

BU is struggling to maintain consistency in conference play, largely because of their defensive breakdowns and low shooting accuracy. However, BU has shown resilience in close conference games as they look to solidify another win.

BU is led by Alex Giannaros, a reliable player who contributes an average of 13.6 points per game and maintains a 35.2% shooting accuracy from the three-point line. Allison Schwertner is also a consistent threat in shooting and rebounding, averaging 8.4 points per game and 4.8 rebounds.

Colgate, with a strong record overall and in the Patriot League, is led by playmaker Taylor Golembiewski who averages 13.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. Her perimeter shooting and 88.1% free throw accuracy make her a reliable weapon for Colgate.

The Terriers’ defense has been weak, allowing 65.7 points per game, which Colgate will look to exploit. Colgate’s scoring ability is reflected in their 68.4 points per game. With Colgate completing 75.9% of their free throws, they are likely to capitalize on any fouls committed by BU’s defense.

BU has the potential to gain an advantage in turnovers. The Terriers average 17.1 turnovers per game, but they have been able to generate 7 steals per game, which could give them fast-break opportunities. If BU can protect the ball and break Colgate in transition, they can slow down their opponent and keep the score in their favor.

The Boston Terriers’ matchup against Colgate will take place at Cotterell Court and it will be streamed live on ESPN+. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.
