Boston University’s Men’s Basketball (12-3, 6-6 PL) heads into a matchup against the Bucknell Bison (14-19, 10-8 PL) on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The Terriers are looking to continue their winning streak against the Bison this season, having beat them 85-82 in overtime in their last faceoff.
BU’s offense is led by sophomore guard Kyrone Alexander, who averages 12.4 points per game, followed by sophomore guard Michael McNair who averages 10.7 points. Defensively, Miles Brewster has been a strong player for the Terriers with the team’s highest rebound total of 4 boards per game.
Bucknell enters this game struggling with consistency but performing well in the Patriot League. The Bison are coming off of a close 69-62 win against Army West Point, which gave them a much-needed boost. The Bison are led by senior guard Jack Forrest, a consistent scoring threat this season who averages 16 points per game.
Senior guard Elvin Edmonds IV, with 10.8 points per game and 120 assists on the season, has been a playmaker for the Bison. As an offensive unit, they rely on strong perimeter shooting, averaging 8.2 three-pointers per game, although they only average 33.8% from three.
The Terriers face the same issue, as they have shot only 33.4% beyond the arc this season. Defensively, BU will need to improve their efforts as they have been allowing opponents to shoot 44.6% from the field. They will need to limit Bucknell’s three-point opportunities and force turnovers, as the Bison have struggled with turnovers, averaging 12.3 per game.
If BU can leverage their rebounding abilities against Bucknell, they can control the boards and keep the score in their favor. Both teams will be looking to build momentum as they battle in this conference matchup.
The Boston Terriers’ matchup against Bucknell will take place at the Sojka Pavilion and it will be streamed live on ESPN+. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
