Boston University Men’s Basketball (4-5, 0-0 PL) prepares to host Thomas College (3-6, 0-2 NAC) in a matchup on Monday, Dec. 9 at Case Gymnasium. This is the first time that these two schools will face each other in a cross-division matchup.
Led by head coach Joe Jones, Boston University stands with a losing record of 4-5– but just by a few missed baskets. BU lost three of their eight games so far by less than ten points. This includes their loss on Sunday to Sacred Heart University, which broke their two-game winning streak with a final score of 73-65.
The Thomas College Terriers will match up against their Terrier opponent, Boston University, coming off of a 17-point loss against Husson University on Saturday. This continues their three-game losing streak of 15 or more points. Senior guard Parker Desjardins led the way for the Thomas Terriers with 19 points and 3 steals on 51.6% efficiency from the field against Husson.
BU toppled UAlbany on Saturday in an exciting 80-74 overtime win. Senior forward Malcolm Chimezie scored on the final shot of regulation to send the game into overtime. From there, the terriers chipped away and eventually brought forth their lead from a pair of three-pointers from Kyrone Alexander and Michael McNair.
Sophomore guard Kyrone Alexander led the Terriers with a career high of 26 points, shooting 59.5% from the field. Alexander also leads the Terriers with an average of 14 points-per-game. BU looks to advance their winning streak heading into Monday night’s game.
A matchup to look out for is between 2 Terrier guards – Parker Desjardins of Thomas College and Kyrone Alexander of Boston University. Momentum will be in favor of both of these Terriers as they have each had efficient double-digit games, leading their teams in scoring. The two guards also have nearly identical stats so far this season, averaging 14 points and 5 rebounds per game.
The Boston Terriers’ faceoff against Thomas College will take place at Case Gym and it will be streamed live on ESPN+. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
