Boston University Men’s Basketball (3-5, 0-0 PL) will face Albany Great Danes (6-3, 0-0 AE) on Dec. 7 at Case Gymnasium and aim to improve their home record to .500.

Last weekend, the Terriers were upset by Sacred Heart Pioneers at home with the score 73-65. Even though the Terriers stayed in following distance throughout the whole game, they never managed to take the lead in the score.

The UAlbany Great Danes come into this game coming off an 88-73 victory over the Columbia Lions last Wednesday, ending their first consecutive losing streak this season. Despite their impressive 6-3 start into this season, their record on the road is 1-2 and they are looking to win their second away game.

These two teams met on 29 Nov. 2023 and UAlbany reached the win with the score 86-72 at their home. In the history of this matchup, however, the Terrier are the obvious dominant side with the 11-3 head-to-head record. While the Great Danes will try to get their first back-to-back wins against Boston University, the Terriers’ aim is going to be to defend their home.

Senior guard Byron Joshua is the go-to-guy for UAlbany Great Danes this season. Joshua leads the team in points, assists, and steals per game where he averages 13.8, 3.4, and 2.6 respectively. Besides him, junior forward Justin Neely stepped up in the recent victory against Columbia and performed this giant statline with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Great Danes would like him to maintain his performance entering into this game.

For the home team, sophomore guard Kyrone Alexander, who is currently the scoring leader of this team, reached his season-high with 22 points in the last game against Sacred Heart Pioneers. Alexander was not the only one who scored his season high points in Terriers.

Micheal Mcnair also reached his best with 18 points, however they could not find the sufficient offensive contribution from the rest of the team and missed the victory.

This weekend, all eyes will be on the Alexander versus Joshua matchup. This matchup will be an opportunity for one of the scoring leaders of two teams to give a clear message to their opponent.

The Terriers will face the Great Danes on Dec 7. in Case Gymnasium and the tipoff will be at 1 p.m. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+.
