Boston University Women’s Basketball (3-3, 0-0 PL) will travel to Syracuse, New York. on Thursday, Dec. 5 to take on the Le Moyne Dolphins (0-7, 0-0 NEC) in a midweek matchup.

BU has started their season on an up-and-down streak, alternating between wins and losses to open the year. The Terriers are coming off a close win against Rider at home.

The matchup between BU and Le Moyne is only their second meeting ever. The first came last season when the Terriers edged the Dolphins in an 11-point victory. This is the first ever visit for the Terriers to Le Moyne College.

The Dolphins have struggled to start the year, going winless in their first seven matchups. However, they are hoping the recent addition of Junior guard Sierra Linnin can help turn their season around. Linnin returned from injury and splashed four threes off the bench in the Dolphins previous game.

In addition to Linnin, Le Moyne has Graduate forward Haedyn Roberts. Roberts leads the team in scoring among players who have played in every game for the Dolphins and also leads the team in rebounding.

Senior forward Brianna Williams has stepped up for Le Moyne in their recent games, with Williams earning two straight starts. In their last game against the University of Southern Indiana, Williams grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds along with a pair of blocks.

The Terriers are hoping they can kick off the first win streak of their season after their victory against Rider. After a freshman season that saw her start every single game for BU, Sophomore guard Audrey Ericksen has been even better for the Terriers in her second season. Ericksen has improved efficiency wise and her scoring has gone up, scoring a team high 20 points in BU’s last contest.

BU has been led by Senior guard Alex Giannaros. Giannaros was named to the preseason All-Patriot League team and she has proven why in the early part of the season, as she leads the Terriers with an average of 15.8 points per game and 2.5 assists per game.

Along with Ericksen and Giannaros, BU has been getting stellar frontcourt play from Freshman forward Allison Schwertner. Schwertner leads the team with an average of 5.8 rebounds per game and is second on the team averaging 9.0 point per game.

The Terriers will face the Dolphins on Dec. 5th at 6 p.m. in a contest taking place at Le Moyne College with the game streaming on NEC Front Row.
