Gallery: Men’s Hockey heads to Orono for two-game series with Maine
BU men’s hockey took a weekend road-trip to Orono and Alfond Arena to compete in one of the hardest buildings in college hockey. With the first game being a statement 5-2 win for No. 7 Maine, the No. 11 Terriers responded with a 2-2 tie and shootout win to steal a crucial two points in the Hockey East standings.
Trailing 2-1 with under a minute remaining and the net empty, captain Shane Lachance came away with the heroics and the game-tying goal. Fellow captain Ryan Greene scored the only goal of the shootout in the fourth round, with Mathieu Caron turning aside every shot faced in the shootout and 30-of-32 overall.
