The Boston University Terriers (6-10, 3-3 PL) are facing the American University Eagles (11-7, 6-0 PL) in the Patriot League Semifinal game. The Terriers lost their last regular season game to Cornell University 2-1 at home last Sunday.

The Eagles ended the season ranked first in the Patriot League, and the Terriers are ranked fourth. This was Americans 14th regular season title since they joined the Patriot League in 2001. AU defeated BU in their regular season matchup on Oct. 11 2-0.

Terrier senior midfielder Payton Anderson and junior midfielder Martu Coulo were named to the All-Patriot League team. Sophomore forward Nicole Lauro received second-team recognition.

Anderson is the third terrier to earn All-PL honors in four seasons. She continues to move up in the all-time scoring list for BU as she enters the Patriot League tournament with 77 career points.

Goalkeeper Kate Thomason continues to be strong in net for BU with a save percentage of 0.715. She has started 15 out of 16 games this season and is expected to start Thursday.

Goalkeeper Bryn Underwood was voted Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year, her third time earning this award in her five-year career. She holds a 0.794 save percentage.

American head coach Steve Jennings was voted PL Head Coach of the Year. The Eagles are a strong team, and the Terriers must come out strong and showcase what they have worked for all year.

The winner of this matchup will continue to the championship game on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. They will face the winner between Bucknell University and Lafayette College, who also play Thursday.

BU will face American at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Jacobs Recreational Complex in Washington, D.C., with the matchup available for streaming on ESPN+.
