Photo Gallery: Men’s Hockey takes down UMass in home opener
The No. 9 Boston University men’s hockey team defeated No. 19 UMass Amherst, 5-2, at Agganis Arena in the Hockey East Home opener on Friday night. With the win, the Terriers vault to second in the Hockey East standings early on.
Despite UMass’ goal in the first 46 seconds of the game, the Terriers quickly gained a lead thanks to sophomore defenseman Lane Hutson and freshman forward Macklin Celebrini. Goals were also scored by senior forward Dylan Peterson, sophomore forward Ryan Greene and senior forward Luke Tuch. By the end of the night, Celebrini led Hockey East in goals and points and sophomore forward Jeremy Wilmer led Hockey East in assists.
