WTBU NEWS LAUNCHES A DAILY PODCAST
WTBU News Today programming begins Tuesday, May 26th, 2020
BOSTON, MA, May 25, 2020 – WTBU News will launch a 5-minute daily news podcast in
addition to its remote programming system for the summer. WTBU News Today will be
available on Spotify, Anchor, RadioPublic, Google Podcasts, and Breaker seven days a week starting on Tuesday, May 26th. With 33 active staff members, WTBU News Today will showcase nine staff members per episode.
The podcast will start with a weather report for the Boston area, continue with an economic
update and will highlight the day’s top international, national, New England and COVID-related
headlines.
“We really wanted to create something that was a concise version of our regular show, so even
our busiest listeners will have time to hear the most important news of the day,” said Assistant
News Director Jenny Kornreich. “Overall, it was about accessibility,” said Kornreich. “We’ll be
releasing a new podcast every day of the week in a ‘here’s what you need to know’ format.”
Podcast episodes will be uploaded the night of the news, so they will be available for listeners to
hear a recap of yesterday’s news right at the start of their day. Our team will provide in-depth
stories covering Boston to Dubai.
WTBU News will continue to hold the safety of their staff as a top priority. All contributing staff
will work remotely and any reporting broadcasted will be from individual audio recordings.
There will be no in-person meetings until further notice. All public communication should be
directed through email or social media.
