Women’s Hockey: Jesse Compher named Hockey East Player of the Week
WAKEFIELD – Boston University junior forward Jesse Compher has been named Hockey East Player of the Week, per a league announcement on Monday.
The Terriers swept the week with a win over Harvard last Tuesday and two wins on the road at Vermont this passed weekend thanks in large part to Compher, who posted five goals and three assists for eight points over the three contests.
In the game against Harvard, Compher notched two goals and an assist before posting a goal and an assist on Saturday at Gutterson Fieldhouse. The All-American followed up the previous two outings with a dominant two-goal, two-assist afternoon on Sunday.
Compher missed the first month of the season with what head coach Brian Durocher called a “lingering lower-body injury.” Since returning on Nov. 9 at Providence, Compher has nine points (6g, 3a) in six games.
The Terriers return to action after the Thanksgiving break as they will host rival Boston College at Walter Brown Arena on Friday Dec. 6 to kick off a home-and-home set in another chapter of the Battle of Comm. Ave.
