Women’s Hockey: No. 10 Terriers head to New Hampshire for their first meeting of the ’19-’20 season

After tying the Merrimack Warriors 2-2 in their home opener last night, the Boston University Terriers (1-0-1, 0-0-1 WHEA) will be on the move right away heading to the University of New Hampshire to take on the Wildcats (2-1-1, 1-0-0 WHEA) for the first time this season.

The Terriers will look to extend their winning streak against the Wildcats to four games after BU won the final three games last season en route to going 4-0-1 against UNH. The Wildcats are looking for their second straight win in Women’s Hockey East play after beating rival Connecticut 2-0 last night.

Coach Brian Durocher has indicated that junior goaltender Corrine Schroeder, who saved 21 of 23 shots on goal last night, will likely get this game off as Sophomore Kate Stuart looks to get the start in net.

“Good chance we’ll play Kate Stuart . . . That is because we have two good goaltenders . . . and we’re gonna give Kate a chance,” Durocher said.

In all likelihood, the Terriers will also be without star forward Jesse Compher for the third-straight game. The nagging lower-body injury that has kept her sidelined is persisting enough to keep her off the ice.

“We’re at a point where cooler heads will prevail and be smart about it,” Durocher said.

Despite the quick turnaround for both squads, as UNH returns home from Connecticut and BU heads to UNH from Boston, the Terriers will be looking to suit up and collect their first in-conference victory of the 2019-2020 season.
