It was four games and four wins for the Boston University softball team at the Upstate Classic in Spartanburg, S.C. this weekend.

The Terriers (6-3) outscored opponents a combined 29-9. Let’s take a look at each game and BU’s top performers.

Friday, BU 7-3 over University of Connecticut:

Seniors Alexa Ponce, Madi Killebrew and freshman Emily Gant drove in runs as the Terriers took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. UConn came back to make it 4-3 after BU tacked on another run, but Killebrew added a two-run home run, her first of the year, to push BU ahead. Senior Emily Morrow went 4-for-4. Sophomore pitcher Ali DuBois spun all seven innings in the circle, allowing three earned runs while striking out 11.

Friday, BU 9-3 over Bowling Green:

Tied after five innings, the Terriers collected six runs in the bottom of the sixth highlighted by freshman Aliyah Huerta-Leipner’s first career home run. Her two-run shot, and a two-run double by classmate Nicole Amodio propelled BU. DuBois pitched five scoreless innings of relief to pick up the victory.

Saturday, BU 4-0 over Bowling Green:

It was DuBois again, this time collecting a career-high 13 strikeouts in the complete game shutout. Amodio hit her first career home run, a solo shot, and Huerta-Leipner drove in two runs to pace the offense.

Saturday, BU 9-3 over University of Connecticut:

Freshman Julia Handfield pitched 4.1 innings to earn her first career win in the circle. BU got up 6-0 before UConn scored their first run. Senior catcher Alex Heinen drove in three runs while Amodio, Huerta-Leipner and sophomore Marina Sylvestri collected two hits apiece.
