Women’s Soccer: Terriers kick off final homestand against Army

BOSTON, MA – Wednesday evening will see BU women’s soccer hope to continue business as usual in the Patriot League, as they prepare to host Army at Nickerson Field.
Riding a six-match win streak, the Terriers (7-7-2 overall) are currently locked with Colgate for joint-first place in the Patriot League at 5-0-1. The five conference victories contained within that six-match streak have all been shutouts.
Sophomore Anna Heilferty leads BU with five goals and four assists, freshman Taylor Kofton follows up in the points table with a trio of tallies, while senior McKenna Doyle holds a pair of scores and helpers each. Kofton’s fellow first-year Lauren Adelman has also marked herself as a player of note after netting a golden goal strike against Harvard—a feat which earned her a Patriot League Rookie of the Week award.
Army has dropped three straight matches, moving them to 6-4-5 overall with a 2-3-1 mark in the Patriot League. Sophomore Erynn Johns maintains the lead in the points table with two goals and five assists, though she has been absent from the roster the past two games. Morgan Walsh, another sophomore, holds three goals, while freshmen Trinity Garay and Kalie Rosenberger claim two goals and an assist each.
BU has, in fact, never lost to the Black Knights, mirroring its current Patriot League record with a 5-0-1 all-time series lead. Last season, graduated forward Christina Wakefield netted the lone goal in a 1-0 away win for the Scarlet and White.
Wednesday’s kickoff time is set for 7 p.m.
