Terriers Look to End Semester on High Note, Take on No. 8/10 Friars

The Boston University Terriers (7-8-3, 3-6-3 Hockey East) look to continue their solid play after a win at Yale this past Thursday.

October didn’t treat the Terriers well, finishing the first month of the season with an overall record of 1-5-1. However, since November 1, BU has turned their play around posting a 6-3-2 record.

The Terriers will be running into a Friars team that has been stellar all season. With an overall record of 10-5-4, the Friars have moved inside the Top-10 national rankings. On top of that, the Friars sit in second place in Hockey East. With a conference record of 7-1-2, they trail only the Eagles of Boston College, who have yet to lose a conference game thus far.

In the last four games, goaltenders Erin O’Neil and Corinne Schroeder have split the time in net. O’Neil, the senior from Minnetonka, Minn. minded the net for both games of a weekend home-and-home series with rival BC, taking one loss and one tie. While Schroeder, a freshman from Manitoba, faced Brown at home and most recently Yale in New Haven, Conn. The freshman won both contests despite giving up six goals combined.

On offense, the Terriers have been hitting their stride, averaging 3.3 goals-per-game and riding the increased production of senior leadership. Captain Rebecca Leslie has posted 10 points (5 G, 5 A) in her last four games. Assistant captain Victoria Bach, who was just named National Player of the Month – the first player in program history to achieve that feat – and Hockey East Player of the Month, posted an astonishing 11 points in the same four-game stretch. The 11 points consisted of 6 goals and 5 assists, with a season high 4 tallies coming against Yale. The hat trick was Bach’s third of the season.

Expect a spirited effort as the Terriers have their last game before going on winter break. They will enjoy three weeks off before heading back out in the road for a weekend series in Princeton, N.J. with the Tigers.
